2024 Ghostgum Vineyard Pinot Noir awarded 97 points - Platinum Medal and proclaimed “unique and world class” at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2026. Humbly, this is the first wine from the Mornington Peninsula to achieve this honour. A milestone not just for us, but for the region itself. We’re deeply appreciative to see Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir recognised on the global stage.

Solar array has been installed at Southern Light Vineyards and it's a game changer for our winery. What is it exactly? 100kW ground mounted solar panels and a new 200kWH battery bank. Wineries are usually remote and removed from three-phase power, they they are the ideal facility for solar power as most of the energy is used during sunny harvest. Solar is the perfect solution. We're proud to be one of the few wineries in Victoria with a system of this magnitude.
As we gear up for a new vintage release, we have been splashing our 2023 Ghostgum wines around Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, filling both trade and consumers with almost as much excitement as ourselves! We showed the 2023s to over 300 people at the Melbourne Roadshow one chilly Thursday in May at the brilliant Victoria by Farmer's Daughters, followed by another 700 at the Winter Wine Weekend in Red Hill over the June long weekend. We had incredible feedback at both events, and with some outstanding reviews also beginning to trickle in, our upcoming releases are shaping up to be the best yet. Wines will be available in Victoria from the 1st of July, and interstate from the 1st of August.

As we count down the days until our 2023s are released, we have been reflecting on the season that was. It was one that tested the resilience of vignerons across the Peninsula! A third consecutive La Niña event brought a cool and wet season once again, with lower yields a knock-on effect from storms the year before. It was a vintage shaped by patience, precision, and care in the vineyard. Despite the challenges, the rewards have been worth it, producing Chardonnay full of tension and drive, and aromatic Pinot Noir with layers of depth and complexity. Yields may have been low, but once again quality is the real story here. These wines speak of site and season, with our Ghostgum wines a true expression of the 2023 season in Main Ridge.
